Exchanging vows in the centuries-old traditional manner in the most rustic set-up was simple yet classy that came to fore in the Rushan-Denise wedding pictures.

When Slovakian girl Denise Charbo, a dancer, yogini and a tribal researcher, fell for Nepali boy Rushan, the cinematographer and editor, in aapnu Amdavad while researching on the Rathwas in Gujarat and decided to tie the knot, they wanted to pay tribute to their customs, values, roots and simplicity of their village folks. So PhotoKalam was roped in for this cross-cultural destination wedding which was to take place in Rushan's hometown in Nepal – in the heart of nature. These photographs of their wedding were clicked in the photojournalistic way by the photographer, without disturbing the joy and privacy of relatives and friends who gathered to celebrate their union in the presence of the almighty. Post ceremony, a few portraits of the family members were also clicked.
